running

As some of you know, I took up running a couple of years ago, which I enjoy very much, typically running around 50-70km a week. I’ve recently been filming some of these runs, though at the moment I’m unsure exactly what I intend to do with some of the video. Below are links to some of these runs, including my favourite Manchester ‘loop’.

This is my favourite local loop, and probably the one I have run the most.

This is a circular route, starting in the centre of Manchester where I live near Deansgate Station, following the Bridgewater Canal to Stretford, taking Hawthorn Lane to Chorlton, then Fallowfield Loop, Yew Tree Road to Platts Field Park, Rusholme, then via University, RNCM, Man Met, and back home!

Here is another of my frequent runs, a shorter loop around the heart of Manchester itself, following canals, the few small city parks and various areas in the centre, running through both Victoria and Piccadilly stations (I slowed down at those points so as not to alarm anyone!) Near the end, I run down Canal Street and pass the statue of Alan Turing in Sackville Gardens.
