In Sparks, the music throughout is extremely
tense and compact. An attempt at a thin strand of musical line is being constantly
subjugated by elements that seem to grow from it and briefly shoot off in
other directions. This image made the title seem appropriate. The ensemble
is treated as one large 'instrument', the sound of which is under continuous
review, as it perpetually changes colour and shape from one second to the
next.
