Disembodied Instruments is part of a series of ensemble works I've written which seek to combine instruments in unusual ways to create hybrid sounds, and draw much of their inspiration from my work in electronic music. The previous two works were Broken Instruments and Blunt Instruments and as with them, there is a highly energetic level of virtuosity in this piece.
